Join our expert tutor, Tina Giuntini, to learn her trademark pin-tuck method for making the perfect turban.
Pin-tucking creates the illusion of folds whilst giving direction to the drape, saves time and guarantees a good result. This is a one day class to show the construction of a basic pin-tucked turban.
You will learn the process of using bias strip fabric to create the draping in the pin-tuck method – hand sewing skills are necessary, though previous millinery experience is not. The foundation will be provided for you in advance to save time and will be explained by the tutor so that you can recreate it in under your own steam.
Students should have good hand sewing skills. You will leave with a turban (including the foundation), but may need to finish some detailed hand sewing work and lining in your own time.
There will be a 1 hour break for lunch. Students can bring their own lunch or purchase something to eat from one of the nearby cafes or restaurants.
All materials will be provided although students are welcome to bring their own sewing kit if they would prefer.
